SNACK Defense: How to Get Snacks — Every Verified Way

All verified ways to get new Snacks in SNACK Defense: gem summons, limited-shop buys, the Farmer's Market event, Robux packs and update drops, with costs and requirements.

New Snacks come from five verified channels: gem summons, direct limited-shop purchases, limited-time event reward tracks, Robux packs and bundles, and update drops. Nearly everything runs on gems, and new accounts start with 100 gems waiting on the summon screen — enough for your first pull the moment you spawn in.

The full list:

  • Gem summons — the gacha that collection guides call the Gumball Machine. Standard pulls cost 100 gems, gourmet pulls 500, and a 5-summon pull 2,500.
  • Limited-shop purchases — the Soda (25,000 gems or 499 Robux) and the Banana Split (90,000 gems), each with a capped supply.
  • The Farmer's Market event — past level 10, survive endless waves for apples and trade them with the Farmer for tiered rewards, including the event-exclusive Avocado.
  • Robux packs and bundles — the Starter Pack (an Epic Waffle), the Update 3 Farmer's Bundle, and a Robux-only premium snack section.
  • Update drops — new Snacks arrive with patches: 9 in Update 2, 8 in Update 3.

Gem summons: the Gumball Machine gacha

The Gumball Machine is the game's primary unlock source for new Snacks, including the rarer ones — and every unit you obtain also adds an Index entry that pushes you toward milestone payouts on the Index rewards track. In-game, gem summons happen in the lobby's summon area, which offers:

  • Standard summon — 100 gems. Tops out at Legendary and can hand back duplicates of units you already own. Pull standard first: both the Cookie and the Milk come from it, and that pair is the best early team foundation.
  • Gourmet summon — 500 gems. The only gem banner that can drop Mythics, such as the Gourmet Shaker. Guides suggest activating a luck boost first, because luck only lasts for a limited number of summons. One recorded player saw a 6x luck boost applied to their first gourmet spin; exact boost strength and duration values aren't pinned down.
  • 5-summon pull — 2,500 gems. A bulk option that one guide notes can net new towers like Fry, Mustard, or Melon.
  • Jackpot and rate-up banners. The summon area lists these too; guides recommend reserving your stockpile for banners with Epic-or-better guarantees rather than spamming standard rolls and risking duplicates.

Buy limited Snacks outright in the gem shop

Some limited Snacks skip the gacha entirely and are sold outright while stock lasts:

SnackRarityPriceSupplyWhat it does
SodaEpic25,000 gems or 499 Robux5,000 madePoisons enemies; grants nearby Snacks up to +25% range
Banana SplitLegendary90,000 gems999 madeEach shot rains 8 scoops; hits flying enemies

Those supply numbers are launch figures, and the purchase option closes once a counter hits zero — so decide early after an update whether you're spending gems or Robux. Stock does drain: late in its window, one player found only about 200 Banana Splits remaining.

Guides converge on the same priority for new players: buy the Soda first. It costs less than a third of the Banana Split, and its poison plus +25% range aura strengthens your whole team — which also feeds your Endless farming and gem income. The Banana Split is the stronger-per-shot flex pick to save for later. Full kits for both live on their unit pages.

The Farmer's Market event: apples for the Avocado

The Farmer's Market event is the verified event route to a Snack you can't summon or buy. It works like this:

  1. Hit level 10. The event appears as you spawn in and requires being past level 10.
  2. Talk to the Farmer to start. The event brief puts you in the Save the Market mode with 20,000 starting cash: "Survive waves for apples, then trade them to me for a limited event avocado. The waves never stop... The top 100 win big prizes."
  3. Farm apples. Apples are earned the farther you go in the event's endless waves, and they also drop in the AFK area. One recorded wave-106 clear paid 40 apples plus 1,000 gems in about 9 minutes.
  4. Trade apples on the Farmer's Track. The track has 10 reward tiers, with observed trade costs of 5, 8, 12, 15, 18 apples and up to 200 per tier. The free track's final reward is the event-exclusive Avocado; a 300-Robux gold pass turns it into a shiny Avocado and adds extra luck, dice and gem rewards. Apples could also be purchased directly.
  5. Mind the countdown. The event was billed as a one-week event with a listed run of Oct 3 ~ Oct 19, and participation only works inside the live window. Whether event-exclusive Snacks like the Avocado ever return outside their window isn't known, so treat the track as now-or-maybe-never whenever it's up.

The event guide has more on the mode itself.

Robux packs and bundles

  • Starter Pack — Epic Waffle. The Starter Pack grants an Epic Waffle, a usable second tower right away. Shop offers have varied between updates — early footage showed a starter-pack deal of trait rolls instead — so check the live contents before buying.
  • Farmer's Bundle (Update 3). Packages the Pineapple, Bread/Baguette and Carrot units with gems and trait dice, advertised at 77% off a stated 2,249-Robux value; one Update 3 recording showed a 450-Robux price on screen. It can also be gifted to another player. Confirm the current price in the shop before budgeting.
  • Premium Robux-only snacks. The shop has been seen cycling a Mythical pack at 7,000 Robux and a Legendary pack at 1,000 Robux as a limited daily deal ("three left today" in one recording), alongside a section for "the most premium snacks. Robux only." — whose contents and prices weren't shown in the recorded footage.

Update drops

Patches add Snacks outright. Update 2's banner told players to "Come collect 9 new Snacks," and Update 3 shipped 8: Carrot, Baguette, Cherries, Apple, Cheese Wheel, Pineapple, the event-only Avocado, and a new Mythic. New units don't all land in the same place — Update 3 flagged the Avocado as event-only — so check the updates page after each patch to see what dropped and where it lives.

Where the gems come from

Summons and shop buys are gem-hungry, so fund them deliberately:

SourceRequirementPayout
Daily questDefeat 50 enemies100 gems
Daily questWin 3 matches150 gems
First win per map levelClear a level once4x normal gems (24 map levels total)
Endless modeAccount level 50Scaling payouts — one wave-148 run paid about 1,900 gems in ~12 minutes at 3x speed
Group rewardJoin the game's group100 gems, trade dice, 5% more XP, a title
Index milestonesCollect unitsGem payouts (a 500-gem claim is on record)
VIP game pass199 Robux2,000 gems + 3 trait dice up front, then 150 gems daily
AFK areaIdle in the zoneFree rewards while away

Do both dailies every day, sweep first-win bonuses on all 24 map levels before farming favorites, and once you reach level 50, deep Endless runs become your most efficient gem engine — the gems guide breaks the math down. A quick check of the codes page for current freebies costs nothing before you grind.

Rarity, stock, and what duplicates are for

  • Rarity availability: Commons are very easy to summon; Epics are common pulls; Legendaries come at moderate odds and stand out for range and attack speed; Mythics are rare chase units that most players only see in the Index.
  • Capped runs: Limited units appear in fixed quantities — about 3,000 Popsicles and 14,000 Waffles existed at the time one guide checked — so grab limited stock when a unit fits your lineup.
  • Duplicates: Duplicates generally do not create new Index entries. Use them for upgrades or trait progression, and keep genuinely new Snacks for collection value.
  • Not live yet: The Merchant ("trade for gems") and the Jumbo Machine ("combine to make jumbo units") both still displayed "coming soon" tags, so neither is currently a way to get Snacks. Recheck the lobby after updates — one recorded player kept their duplicates in case the Jumbo Machine eventually uses them.

A sensible collection order

  1. Claim the 100 free summon-screen gems and pull standard — the Cookie and Milk form your foundation.
  2. Run both gem dailies and sweep first-win bonuses across every map level.
  3. Save for Epic-or-better banners instead of repeatedly rolling standard.
  4. At level 50, make deep Endless runs your gem engine.
  5. Bank 25,000 gems for the Soda first; the 90,000-gem Banana Split comes later.
  6. Play an event like the Farmer's Track while its window is open — exclusives may never return.
  7. Log every new unit toward Index milestones for bonus gems on the way.

For what each Snack actually does in battle, the units roster has the full list, and the Gumball Machine page goes deeper on the summon banners themselves.
